This house turned museum allows you to step back in time to see how the other half lived in the 19th century. It was built by none other than the Marquis of Cerralbo (hence the name) and allows visitors a glimpse into the life of an aristocratic family. The mini palace is perfectly preserved with household objects typical of the era. Fortunately the Marquis was a hoarder and managed to collect European paintings dating from the 16th -19th centuries, old coins, armour, jewellery, furniture and almost anything else his beady eye took a fancy to. Thank god there was no Ikea in those days because each object in this fascinating house tells a story.
